Professor Eske Willerslev has been so generous to allow film director Linus Mørk to follow his scientific research and adventure during 4 years. The result is a trilogy, where we get introduced not only to Eske Willerslev's scientific work, but also to the conflicts and ethical considerations, which is a large part of scientific research behind closed doors. When professor Eske Willerslev decides to disclose the Australian aboriginals ancient history, he hasn’t the faintest idea of the problems he will have to face. Not only encounter he resistance among his Australian colleagues, but he will also have to travel to the other side of the world to let the aboriginals decide whether his outstanding discovery ever sees the light of day.

Since his childhood has Eske Willerslev been deeply fascinated with Native Americans and his greatest dream is to sequence a genome from an ancient American. In spite of persistent attempts, over and over it fails. Suddenly, from a totally unexpected source, he receives a letter from an American family, who has found a 12.600 years old child skeleton.
